Fashion speaks Sisterhood
On October 2018 Fashion Speaks project displayed its art creation “Sisterhood” in London, participating in annual Frieze Art Week.
“Fashion speaks Sisterhood” appeared as a powerful installation group dedicated to bonds between women, friendship and professional engagement. The exhibition was designed to make the audience wonder what does sisterhood actually mean for each of us, of different origin, culture, and faith, for each of us, a woman, particularly and generally. Basing on a personal story, back to wartime, the time of depriving and hardship, Christeseva showcases clothes could become an emotional symbol, creating strong ties between women, giving a tool for support and unity.
The exhibition “Fashion Speaks Sisterhood” was carried to London to support the transborder project Artdom, upheld by the Embassy of Sweden in London and curated by the Goodwill ambassador of Swedish National Committee for UN Women Arghavan Agida. The activity of originative changemakers of the Artdom, as well as of Arghavan Agida, who with the aid of art aspires to set the connections between Iranian and Swedish female creators, inspired Christeseva for her researches of sisterhood.
