Fashion Speaks for Belarus 2021 #Ikea
In 2021, Fashion Speaks continues its series of supportive activities advocating for freedom and democracy for the Belarusian nation. On Monday, September 20, Ludmila Christeseva celebrates her mother’s birthday on the streets of Stockholm, as she is banned from visiting her mother and her native town in Belarus.
The act includes targeting the large Swedish company Ikea, urging them to cease supporting Lukashenko’s dictatorship by manufacturing furniture in Belarus. The protest installation is supported by Ukrainian visual artist Irina Jonsson (@aquasandart), who has designed a collection of informational postcards to amplify the message.
